Even boats with metal hulls and components come in for their share of bumps and accidents or they may need modifications from time to time. The repairs on these vessels often require specialised welding and boilermaking skills.

Many welders working in the Boating Industry are specialists in a particular material or special area of fit out or repairs: Not everyone can weld stainless steel.

You would perform on site welding for custom fittings and fabrications in stainless steel and aluminium, from small fitting modifications and repairing damaged railings to beach dollies and trailers. You could work on metal hulls or fuel and water tanks.

Opportunities exist for specialised Boilermakers in fabricating shapes for vehicle ferries, barges, punts, jetcats and ocean faring cats. You could also make repairs to the hulls or superstructure of aluminium and steel vessels.
